Traditional Chinese Medicine:

Traditional Chinese medicine has a three thousand year old written history and is a medicine based on the Taoist principals of Yin Yang and the 64 Trigrams of the Yi Jing. Acupuncture in Brunswick East, Melbourne. It is one of the oldest recorded medicines in the world and is based on pragmatism and hence has a basis in results; it receives much attention from modern medicine modern world as it often gets results where conventional western modalities have struggled.

Client needs are assessed and treatments calculated by gauging the body's balances of energy production and vital substances. The balance of the body's vital systems can be manipulated through the energy pathways that run around the body to enhance and reinstate homeostasis.

'The sage engages with the body's ethereal system unto its betterment, all beings on the compass. The sage is the endlessly revolving axis.'

 

Sterile filiform disposable needles are used to direct the flow of energy, known as Qi, through the energy pathways known as meridians. By piercing the skin at various specific points along these meridians, a rebalancing of the body's internal and external system can be achieved. These points, when used following an accurate Chinese Medical diagnosis, can enact vast changes throughout the body.

 

Acupuncture:

The history of acupuncture lies with the origins of early man in central Asia. It is an ancient tradition that has appeared in writings and archeological records that stretch back for 5000 years.

 

Acupuncture is the art of piercing the body with needles and gaining a therapeutic response. It has been used to improve and manage many common problems that have assailed people from the dawn of time. Common problems treated with acupuncture are persistent and aggravating aches and pains though it's scope of treatment is limitless- from mental and emotional imbalances to dermatitis and complex skin conditions through to gastric and limbic imbalances.

 

Tui Na / An Mo:

Tui Na and An Mo are traditional forms of remedial/medical massage.

 

Tui Na

 

 

Tui Na employs techniques of pushing (Tui) and pulling (Na) the meridian/energy lines of the body.

 

Acupressure points are stimulated to activate varying therapeutic responses in the body.

 

Many forms of illness respond well to this form of medical massage.

 

An Mo

 

An Mo is a similar core modality of Chinese medical therapy.

 

This branch of the healing art employs more joint manipulation and motility/range of motion techniques.

 

It has a strong effect on the myofacial component of the musculoskeletal system.

 

It is often used in conjuction with Tui Na to treat all forms of pain and illness in the body.

 

Cupping & Moxibustion

Cupping and moxibustion are often employed in conjunction with the above-mentioned hands-on therapies.

Cupping

 

Cupping employs the use of glass cups that attach to areas of the body presenting with pain and stagnation.

 

It is also commonly used to relieve general muscles tension and the signs and symptoms of the common cold.

 

There is often a characteristic red/purplish bruising on the body following this form of treatment.

 

Moxabustion...

Moxibustion employs the use of ignited mugwart herb in safe and bound sticks.

 

Then the ignited ember is placed over specific acupuncture points to stimulate and nourish the body for specific therapeutic effect.

 

This type of therapy has profound effects on muscle pain and the signs and symptoms of the common cold.
